Drive Mount Washington today! Base Station Road, or the road that leads to the Base Station of the Mt. Washington Cog Railway, known as Marshfield Station, offers incredible sights and recreational opportunities. This is just the start to your scenic trip up Mount Washington. Base Station Road takes you to an elevation of 2700′ on the Western Slope of Mt. Washington. There is no charge for the use of this road.
Drive up Mount Washington on this scenic road, filled with natural waterfalls, great fishing holes, walking trails, the Wild Ammonoosuc River, the White Mountain National Forest and its wildlife. Plenty of pull overs along the way offer free parking and easily accessible paths and walkways give your family plenty of memorable sites to photograph and enjoy – and this is even before you get to Marshfield Base Station!
In the winter time, there are plenty of snowshoe trails within easy access of Base Station Road. And Marshfield Base Station provides parking and security for winter hikers and skiers!
Once you arrive at the Marshfield Base Station, take in the amazing panoramic views and sights of the Mount Washington Area.
