DIRECTIONS TO MARSHFIELD BASE STATION

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR USERS OF GPS DEVICES and INTERNET MAP SERVICES.

The Mount Washington Cog Railway is located in a remote mountainous area that, in some cases, may be poorly mapped by GPS services. Access to Marshfield Base Station is from Route 302 near the Omni Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods and is prominently marked by one of our retired steam locomotives. Please follow the directions below to ensure you are not directed to the wrong side of the mountain; otherwise, you will miss your train!

Please Note: Plan to arrive 45 MINUTES before departure time to allow plenty of time for ticketing and restroom visits. All trains board 15 minutes prior to departure time.

Driving Directions

    • Take I-93 North through Franconia Notch Parkway to Exit 35, Route 3 North

    • Continue approximately 10 miles to Twin Mountain, NH

    • Turn right at traffic light intersection with Route 302

    • Follow Route 302 East for 5 miles to Bretton Woods, NH

    • Turn left at Fabyan’s Station Restaurant onto Base Station Road

    • Follow Base Station Road for 6 miles to Marshfield Base Station

    • Take Route 302 West to Bretton Woods, NH.

    • Pass Omni Mount Washington Resort

    • Turn right at Fabyan’s Station Restaurant onto Base Station Road

    • Follow Base Station Road for 6 miles to Marshfield Base Station

    • Take I-95 North to I-91 North (New Haven, CT toward Hartford, CT)

    • Take I-91 North to I-93 South (St. Johnsbury, VT)

    • Follow I-93 South to Exit 40 (Route 302 East, Bethlehem, NH)

    • Follow Route 302 East approx. 15 miles to Bretton Woods, NH.

    • Turn left at Fabyan’s Station Restaurant onto Base Station Road

    • Follow Base Station Road for 6 miles to Marshfield Base Station

    • Take Auto Route 10 East to Auto Route 55 South

    • Take Auto Route to I-91 South.

    • Follow I-93 South to Exit 40 (Route 302 East, Bethlehem, NH)

    • Follow Route 302 East approx. 15 miles to Bretton Woods, NH.

    • Turn left at Fabyan’s Station Restaurant onto Base Station Road

    • Follow Base Station Road for 6 miles to Marshfield Base Station
